GROUNDSWELL PICTURES RECEIVES GRANT FROM CUMBERLAND COMMUNITY FOUNDATION’s SUMMERTIME KIDS PROGRAM

FAYETTEVILLE, NC — GroundSwell Pictures, a 501(c)(3) non-profit located in Fayetteville, NC is pleased to announce a grant from the Cumberland Community Foundation Summertime Kids Program in support of Shooting Stars Film Camp.

Shooting Stars Film Camp is a one week camp conducted each summer to teach filmmaking as well as the power of film to create change.

Cumberland Community Foundation’s Summertime Kids program has helped more than 1,000 youth have life-changing summer experiences. Many of these youth are from low income families and underserved communities. All donations benefit recreational, enrichment, and mentoring activities for youth in summer camps that are offered by local nonprofit organizations, neighborhood groups, and other community groups.

This is the third year for Shooting Stars Film Camp, and the Board is extremely honored to have been selected to receive this pivotal grant to provide scholarships for 11 children to attend film camp this year.

Sugar Sheltie

June 19, 2002 – March 4, 2017

We are extremely saddened to announce the passing of our Barker in Charge, Sugar.
Sugar started working at Moonlight at the tender age of 8 weeks in 2002. She worked her way up from Tail Wagger to Barker in Charge and was also head of the Motorcycle Barking Club and the Official Greeting Party. Sugar was at GroundSwell from its inception. She was one of the first dogs to hang out downtown and treasured her walks around her downtown. She was also one of the first dogs on Facebook.
She leaves behind two grieving parents and a boy all of whom loved her so.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn’s rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die…
